Sand casting using a pattern plate

We are now going to have a look at sand casting using a pattern plate.
Similar to the previous job, we use the basic model to make the pattern plate.
In this picture we can see the digital model for casting to which has been added a flow pipe, a feeder head, a bottom box and a top box, assembled together for casting.
In this photo are the two real boxes. We chose to make the model using rapid prototyping which is one of the solutions to obtain this part.
The mould is now ready for the casting operation with the filling point on the top side.
The final photo shows the result of sand casting with a pattern plate.
We are now going to speak about the last solution for making a crown adaptor blank.
